my pregnancy this week

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Brandon and I are a little perplexed by the multiple number of fruits this week. I keep singing "four navel oranges...and a partridge in a pear tree"!

They are certainly right about the kicks and somersaults. They are not just at night -- they are practically 24 hours a day! And nobody mentioned that my ankles were going to look like tree stumps. That's a bit bothersome, but there are only 9 weeks left to go! :) Yippee!!!

Ok, first of all, I don't think most navel oranges weigh .83 of a pound. Secondly, aren't there any large fruits (like a honeydew or a gourd or something) that weigh closer to 3.3 that they could use? I agree, 4 Navel Oranges is weird- but it does work well in the song :)
